Pant Du vineyard in Gwynedd produces its first red wine
A vineyard in a part of north Wales better known for its slate than its grapes produces its first wine.
www.bbc.comVale vineyard is a small Welsh site where Bernard and Tanya Herbert brought vines to life in 1999. By 2001 all 10 acres were bearing fruit, with varieties including Madeleine Angevine and Pinot Noir, with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay for sparkling wine. Wines are produced by Three Choirs at Newent. The site remains without its own winery, relying on external production.
