About the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery - who we are
As part of the Duchy of Cornwall, our nursery has been under the stewardship of Prince Charles for many years. His environmental values influence our work.
www.duchyofcornwallnursery.co.ukThe Duchy’s growing nursery site sits within the Duchy estate and opened to the public in 1975 in Lostwithiel, Cornwall following a half-century expansion plan plus ongoing extensions including a newer extension, retail space, and an Orangery restaurant. Prince William visited the site in July 2023 to view the nursery extension, glasshouse, and gardens. Revenue from the Duchy funds the Duke's public, private, and charitable activities. The nursery lies within the Duchy estate forming a key estate operation within Duchy lands which began public access in 1975. Growth over 50 years has expanded the site. The nursery is among the South West’s most respected nurseries. Duchy of Cornwall Nursery continues to expand facilities including a new extension while emphasizing nature-friendly horticulture.
