Ten government bodies have established a coordinated ecological law-enforcement mechanism to strictly crack down on major environmental crimes. This initiative is led by public security authorities and involves multiple agencies working together to address illegal activities such as illegal mining and other significant ecological violations.
The new cross-agency policing mechanism aims to enhance the detection, investigation, and prosecution of environmental crimes across China. The effort includes strengthening cooperation between departments and improving the efficiency of law enforcement actions targeting environmental offenders.
In recent years, regions like Shandong Province have launched projects to improve marine ecology, including nearshore pollution control and coastal environment restoration. These efforts have led to improvements in marine ecosystem quality, with six bays recognized as outstanding examples of "beautiful bays" by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
This coordinated approach marks a significant step toward more effective enforcement of environmental laws and protection of China’s natural resources.
