Saskatchewan RCMP have issued a public warning that ice on lakes, rivers, sloughs, ponds, and dugouts remains too thin to safely support people or vehicles at this time. The warning comes as winter gradually settles in, but conditions are still unpredictable.
"We want to remind everyone that ice thickness can vary greatly, even within the same body of water. Always check the ice before venturing out, and never assume it is safe just because it looks solid."
Saskatchewan RCMP urge caution as winter begins, stressing that ice on local water bodies is still dangerously thin and unpredictable, posing serious risks to public safety.
