US President Donald Trump has called on Ukraine to do more to tackle corruption and rebuild its economy, as part of a bid to strengthen ties between the two countries.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Warsaw, Mr Trump said: "We want to help you with that. We want to help you with corruption. We want to help you with your economy."
Mr Zelensky welcomed the offer and said: "We are ready to cooperate with the United States in the sphere of countering corruption. We are ready to cooperate in the sphere of economic development."
The talks come amid a push by the US to strengthen ties with Ukraine, following a period of strained relations under the previous US administration.
Mr Trump also said the US would continue to provide support to Ukraine in its conflict with Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine, saying: "We will continue to support Ukraine."
Mr Zelensky said Ukraine would "do everything" to ensure the conflict is resolved through diplomatic means.
The two leaders met on the sidelines of a meeting of the Bucharest Nine, a group of Central and Eastern European countries that have expressed concern about the rise of nationalism in Europe.
In a statement, the White House said the meeting was part of a bid to "strengthen the strategic partnership between the United States and Ukraine" and to discuss ways to "advance Ukraine's efforts to modernize its economy and to strengthen its democratic institutions."
Mr Trump also made reference to the upcoming US presidential election, saying: "We will see what happens. We will see what happens."
