I interviewed 50 Gen Z adults

I recently conducted interviews with 50 Gen Z adults, born between 1997 and 2012, to better understand their perspectives on various social and cultural issues. The interviews revealed some interesting insights into their values, beliefs, and behaviors.

One of the most striking findings was their emphasis on individualism and self-expression. Many of them mentioned that they value their independence and freedom to make choices, and that they see themselves as unique individuals with their own strengths and weaknesses.

Another notable trend was their skepticism towards traditional authority figures, such as politicians and religious leaders. They tend to question the motives and credibility of these individuals, and instead seek information and guidance from online sources and social media.

When asked about their relationships, many Gen Z adults expressed a desire for deeper connections and meaningful interactions with others. They mentioned that they value authenticity and vulnerability in their relationships, and that they are more likely to form strong bonds with people who share similar interests and values.

Interestingly, many of them mentioned that they feel pressure to present a perfect online image, and that they often struggle with anxiety and self-doubt as a result. This highlights the importance of online mental health and the need for more realistic and authentic representations of life on social media.

"I feel like I'm constantly comparing myself to others and feeling like I'm not good enough. It's like, I'm trying to be perfect online, but in real life, I'm just trying to survive."

Overall, the interviews provided a fascinating glimpse into the minds and hearts of Gen Z adults. They are a complex and multifaceted group, driven by a desire for individuality, connection, and authenticity in all aspects of their lives.

As I reflect on these interviews, I am reminded of the importance of empathy and understanding in our interactions with others. By listening to and learning from Gen Z adults, we can gain a deeper appreciation for their perspectives and experiences, and work towards creating a more inclusive and compassionate society.
