Tokyo, Japan, March 17, 2023 – Fujitsu today announced that it has accelerated the reduction of blue carbon emissions by 1.4 tons per year in its global data centers and offices. Blue carbon refers to the carbon dioxide absorbed by the ocean, which is a significant component of global carbon emissions.

Fujitsu has been working to reduce its blue carbon emissions since 2020, and has achieved a total reduction of 5.6 tons per year. The company's efforts to reduce blue carbon emissions include increasing the use of renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and reducing waste.

According to Fujitsu, the reduction of blue carbon emissions is an important step towards achieving a carbon-neutral society.
