Ping An leads "Ancient Tree Guarantee" home insurance
China's Ping An Insurance Group has launched a new home insurance product that covers damage to property caused by ancient trees.
The "Ancient Tree Guarantee" policy is aimed at homeowners in China who live near ancient trees, but do not have the right to chop them down.
According to the company, the policy will cover damages to property caused by falling branches or trunks of ancient trees.
"Ancient trees are a treasure of our nation, and we should protect them," said a spokesperson for Ping An Insurance.
The policy is available in several provinces in China, including Zhejiang and Jiangsu, where many ancient trees are found.
Homeowners can purchase the policy for a small premium, which will cover damages to their property in the event of a tree-related accident.
Ping An Insurance has been promoting the product through social media and online advertising, highlighting the importance of preserving ancient trees.
